OK, I started reading this thread because I think I have to look in behind there to see what's going on with my starter. You guys have been having some fun!!! I'm an ex-farmer. We used to fix everything with a Johnson bar and 3 feet of hollow pipe on the end of it. Now that's some leverage! Wish me luck, somethings grinding inside there!

Never use a hammer or an other tool to 'shock' loose a magneto !
It could lose it's field, and then you got yourself a useless magneto that doesn't give you enough 'spark'
