Ah but small ends can always be bushed and that gets rid of that particular noise.

Before I forget, Steve, you need to stop that mamby pamby B/s and Man Up. ( do a you tube search for Chopper Reed (sp?) )

No space here for stern talk. If the bolt won't do as it's told., just smack it. It needs a good smack for it to get the message.

If smacking it doesn't get through you may have to get heavy handed with it to teach it a lesson or maybe it's asking for it and you'll have to sink the boot in.

I have a couple of sets of -305 gudgeon pins (0.1mm o/s), so I'm a-reaming the rods on my spare crank.

Can you still buy GTX? Not seen it for aeons. Last time I used it I cooked the fully-floating bushes on two turbochargers in a row on my SAAB 900 turbo; I only ever used Mobil Super 1 in that, and my last petrol car, a Sierra Cosworth, after that.

I've been a confirmed diesel man since '90, so oil technololology has been a thing that's slipped past me (arf!).

GTX is probably still around. At one point they had a synthetic GTX R or whatever they called it. Seemed to work OK.

If diesels get best consumption on the highway and hybrids are best in town, how come there are no diesel hybrids?
