Fixing Cracked Side Panel

Left side panel cracked from vibration. I'm sure this has happened to lots of you. What would you say is the best way to fix it? It feels like it's maybe aluminum. Probably can't JB Weld it, seems like the vibration would snap it apart. What have you guys done or what would you suggest?

Easy welding job.....

Find a local guy with Oxy-Acetylene or TiG equipment. Make friends with him and buy him a
beer......

10 minutes with a file / dremel / wet or dry paper and you're done.

Cool. Glad to know it is possible. Can this sort of job be done without fucking up the paint a whole lot or should I expect to have to sand down and re-paint the whole thing?

You can expect the paint to be burned away y for a couple of inches around the repair. Bargain on sanding and repainting the complete piece.

If you are squeamish about that you are probably better off going the LM route.... :-)

You might also get some warpage from the welding. You'll get less with the TIG welding.
