IDLE TOO FASTJUST A THOUGHT. I HAVE READ AND HEAR THAT IF THE GOVENOR SPRINGS (SPARK ADVANCER SPRINGS GET OLD AFTER HUNDREDS OF HEATING AND COOLING CYCLES THEY BECOME TOO WEAK TO PULL THE ADVANCER BACK TO FULL RETARD WITH THE MOTOR RUNNING THIS I HAVE HEARD CAUSES THE BIKE TO IDLE TOO FAST. JUST A THOUGHT AND ANOTHER THING TO CHECK

Look into the mouth of the carb and see if the slides are "at bottom'. ............lm

search " rusty tank " on this forum. I use the method wit the battery charger, and it works well. Not super easy, but very inexpensive. Otherwise you can shake the tank with nuts and bolts in it, and flush with fresh gas. Make sure your carb slides are synced, raising at the exact same time when twisting the throttle. This will cause funny idling situations if they rise/fall at different times.
