My new CB77

I've bought the red ones for my CB. I like 'em.

Ed, your powers of observation never fail to amaze! I had to really look at that rear wheel, close up, to notice the spokes under sheer strain.

It's still a lovely looker, though....

Hi,

Loudo, LM clearly stated that the cap was painted, it's not, that's all.
And I wrote already that the CB72 / 77 never had red caps, and that means that LM is right about that.

But these where never sold on a CB72 / 77 and where introduced in 1972.

LM is right about all the things he mentioned, very professional and I respect that, it also states clearly that this isn't the original color, and I think he's also right about that.

But when it comes to the cap, he's wrong in his conclusion that it's painted, it's red plastic.

But that's not really the point, it's how his reaction is formulated.

Now we know where the bike color came from.
Wonder how NGK delive3red the paint.

When you're hanging onto the stern line of a 60-tonne yacht and she reaches from the dock a bit, slipping the line around the capstan and through your hands, ya just gotta know when to let it go.......

You're wrong on the spark plug cap, as NGK sold these in black and red. But these where never sold on a CB72 / 77 and where introduced in 1972.

You in your wisdom said it for me.
If I wanted I could spend some time saying "You're wrong " many times but I use a LOT MORE TACT than you.
I seem to recall I mentioned that something new came about.
If YOU want me to bend over for you , you have a long wait for sure!!!!!!!!!!. .........lm

Very nice looking Superhawk, you look like a kid with a new toy :) Thanks for posting up the pictures, this has been a real interesting post. It always amazes me to see the things LM can find on these bikes.

My reasoning: Ed knows more about Hondas -- 72s/77s in particular -- than probably the entire forum member database. And from personal touchy-feely experience. Whereas many of us have some touchy-feely experience, a degree of theoretical philosophies and much reading study. Ed, I don't think Jensen is asking you 'bend over'; and I, for one, understood your meaning. Jensen's internal Dutch-to-English translation mechanism sometimes doesn't pick up on some of the Anglo-American metaphors and colloquialisms.

It's a lovely looking bike that Jonty has, I think we all agree on that. So, guys, let's all move along.......? This shouldn't become another oil-type debate!
