Yes, it is an awesome bike! I love vintage Hondas and this one is just right.

Well, I've finally dialed in the carbs. I runs nicely now. I'm still waiting for my plate registration so I can ride the open road. This motor really likes to rev! It doesn't come alive until it hits 5 or 6 grand! Boy, it loves the revs! I feel accomplished! Now, I can just enjoy it.

Well, I was a little over dramatizing that. What I meant to say was that it wasn't happy at below 4000 rpm. I'm still riding around the sub until I get my plates. That and since I just rebuilt the top-end less than 75 miles ago, I'm only hitting about 7-8 grand in 2nd gear. But it feels very eager to rev. How long is the break-in period? I have read that the horsepower peak is at 9200 rpm.

Just as a follow up, the popping I was experiencing turned out to be a miss in the left cylinder. The plug was a little wet sometimes. Today, I changed out the points and it runs perfect! I even managed a little wheelie by accident! Fun stuff! It always ends up being the one part I didn't completely check or change.
I plan to upgrade down the road with the electronic ignition and high output coils. Question about the electronic ignition unit here. Who makes it or designed it? Does Dyna make an ignition for our bikes or is this the only option? How about options on coils? I know about the Dyna coils (dc10-1) and the xs650 coils. 63 cb77 cafe

New updates:
1. As I posted in another thread, I changed the oem coils to Dyna coils. But I found out later that I didn't connect the ground strap. So, the oem coils were probably OK. Anyway, I get great spark now and she runs awesome. I used yellow suppression wire. That was another thread, but the suppression wire worked ok. I ordered them by accident instead of the copper core type. 2. As I posted also in another thread, I considered changing my CB Dunstall pipes to CL high pipes and centerstand to the kickstand. Well, I like it much better now. It looks better in my eyes as a cafe bike. I also wrapped the headers in black exhaust wrap. Then , I cut off the lower pipe brackets for more clearance, although they are not done in the pics below. Handles awesome now and I don't have to worry about the low pipes and centerstand dragging in tight corners. I like to lean! 3. I had a leak in the tach drive and have since just changed it out. In the original drive, I tried to drill out the retaining screw after I messed it up. I wanted to change out the oil seal. The new one is fine now. I have a slight seepage around the left side of the head still. That's the next oil leak to chase down. But its slight. 4. Lastly, since the last time I posted pics, the seat wasn't done. Now it's painted with a couple of bolts on the side just for looks. I originally wanted to use them for bolting down the seat, but it didn't work. Now, it's cosmetic since I didn't want to repair the resulting holes. The seat pad is just a simple foam pad. I may upholster next time. I just want to ride. It looks a bit rough but kinda gives a raw cafe-racer look. So, here are some of pics of it's current state. I only have about 200 miles on her and riding season is almost over. Just enjoying the riding! 63 cb77 cafe
