Also, any input on a Keyster carb rebuild kit???????
Is this an easy project for a beginner???? Perhaps a good learning process???

1966 dream....

Post by sky1haze » Thu Sep 16, 2010 11:23 pm

No I didn't check the search feature, I will.
I am new to the site and to motorcycles in general. I am doing allright though. I am making myself learn as much as possible. My bike has just under 6,000 original miles and the only problems are with the carb...... So, I am going to adjust it til I get the balls to rebuild it with my keyster kit...

Carb

The slide screw is located just behind the air screw. It raises and lowers the slide height and thus regulating the idle speed.
Just for arguement sake, I would recommend you buy a can of carb cleaner and go to town on your jets and inner works of this carb. You may not even need to use that rebuild kit. It doesn't take much balls to just clean it out.
Then I recommend you go to the search and read, read, read on adjustments. Just my 2cents,,,,,,,,RW

Previous experience with the Keyster Carb kit for the Dream has shown some that ya want to use the jets and needle in the carb and not the ones in the kit.
Seems Keyster packages the wrong needle and jets. ............lm
