Thats too funny! So if the OWNER of this beautiful bike is watching, your bike has been an inspiration to many! That was the bike I saw and said, yep gotta have one! I'd love to see your bike during the resto process and when it's finished. What year is yours? a 65?

Hey Kigsby, I was thinking about what you said on having difficulty taking the kick start knuckle off. Have you taken off the side cover? Because to get that knuckle off you need to remove that side cover, and there is a clip that you need to remove. Hope that helps!

Yes, mine's a '65. It came to me in a bunch of boxes last Christmas as it was totally disassembled. I got it from a guy who lived a couple houses over from me. He had it for a few years but didn't do anything with it, so when they decided to move I purchased it for $300. It sat in my garage un-touched until a few weeks ago when I finally got the time to begin work on it. I've sorted thru the pieces to see what was missing and have been picking up a few things here and there.

It was in fair shape considering how long it sat disassembled. The front fender was pretty banged up and the rear fender had a tear in it, but most of the other sheet metal parts were in good shape. I got it mostly painted last week(white) and tonight I color sanded it and hope to buff it out tomorrow and begin the assembly.

I'll start a new thread soon with some pictures. Your bike looks amazing!

Thanks for the compliments. I wish I could take some credit for it, but honestly it was all my hubbies elbow grease and know how. I was just the supervisor with the vision (and a picture!) I knew that I wanted the seamless gas tank, and whitewalls. Oh and I knew it had to be white and shiny! I did all the "shopping" online, and learned the hard way what fits and what doesn't. It was a great experience and having my hubby put it together for me, made it all that much more special. I have restored Buco bags that I will eventually add to the bike, but for now, I want to ride it without them. The chrome is too pretty to hide right now. When you get a chance, put some pictures up. I'd love to see them.

Kelly,

You and your hubby did an outstanding job of bringing your vision to life! Hope to see it riding down Chilleno Valley Rd one of these days!

That's not Kellie's bike, that's a picture of the bike she's using as a reference for her restore. I noticed the shock also, looks like the plastic upper piece is broken or the inner shock rod is bent.
