CB77 starts, idles, dies with gas

just set points, balanced carb slides, put in new plugs. Starts fine, idles. I let it run to warm up a little. when i twist the throttle, engine sputters, dies, sometimes pops. Where should i look first?

Fuel supply. Make sure you've got plenty of gas in the float bowl.

Did you follow Ed's tuning recipe that is accessed by clicking on the FAQ in the right margin in yellow?

i guess i'm too new to this..... ed's tuning recipe sounds promising but i don't see how to access it!
