Carb removal issue
Carb removal issueI recently became the owner of a 1965 Dream CA77 and am trying to get her running before I move towards restoration. I'm trying to clean the carb and rebuild it if needed as this was sitting in a barn for quite sometime.
I have removed the nuts on the left and right bolts and am able to get enough wiggle that I am convinced there is not hondabond or any other sealer. Enough wiggling and I can see space between the carb and the flange. But the carb just will not slide forward so I can undo the throttle cable. I'm worried that is may be a bent mounting bolt. If this is the case, how does one deal with such and issue? Any advice is welcome.
The studs are probably splayed out a little. I would put the nuts on just so they cover the tip of the studs and then take a pair of pliers or channellocks or even a small clamp and squeeze them toward each other gently as you wiggle the carb body off. Mine is like that.
