Petcock Disassembly Question
In the original petcock for the CA77, how do you get the fuel selector switch out of the petcock housing? There's a little metal post in the center of the base that is keeping the ON/OFF selector lever in the petcock...does that come out somehow?
I'm trying to take the petcock apart to clean it and I can't figure out how to get the selector lever out...

Yes, I have it apart except for the bottom half - there's a little brass pin through the center of the selector lever that is preventing the selector lever from sliding out - how does that lever come out? Does the little pin come out too? That's the only way I can see how that lever could come out, is by removing that pin - but that pin does not seem to want to come out.
Maybe it's stuck in there by a combination of old gas and rust...?
I want to dip the whole thing in my can of carb cleaner, but I'm afraid the cleaner will eat the bakelite thumb rest on the lever.
Does it unscrew from the bottom? It doesn't appear to...

The pin is part of the butterfly spring that comes out the top.
The whole bottom bowl screws off.
I don't think the carb cleaner would hurt bakelite, but you could hang the assembly in cleaner by the lever, with the bakelite part out. if you wanted to.
You could also try putting the whole thing in a pot of heated water with some soap of choice to free it up.
I use an old pot and hotplate

Yes, it needs to come out.
The pin is supposed to be part of the butterfly assembly

The same vendor also has a complete repro petcock assy, as well as rebuild kit.

Although I have no experience with this vendor
